John F. O'Hare
John O’Hare has 20+ years of experience as an advisor to and investor in middle market companies facing strategic, operational and financial challenges. Prior to joining Tortola, Mr. O’Hare was Co-Portfolio Manager of Saybrook Corporate Opportunity Funds, a middle market private equity firm, where he sourced, executed and managed investments in distressed companies. He was integrally involved in 19 distressed debt and private equity investments in the business services, consumer, energy, healthcare, manufacturing and technology sectors. As part of these investments, Mr. O’Hare was a board member or observer of Accretive Solutions, AGY Holdings, Axia, Bankruptcy Management Solutions, Something Sweet and Western Emulsions.
Prior to helping raise Saybrook’s first Corporate Opportunity Fund, he was a senior professional in the firm’s restructuring advisory group. Mr. O’Hare previously was an investment banker with Salomon Smith Barney and Furman Selz, and he began his corporate finance career with the private equity investment group of Marshall & Ilsley.
He has a MBA from Vanderbilt University and a BA from University of Illinois.
